FAQ

  • What is the point of hot yoga?

Hot yoga is designed to challenge both the body and mind. Practicing in a heated room helps your muscles warm up fast, supports mobility and builds stamina. At Lila Within, we use the heat to help students find focus, strength, and a sense of renewal leaving you feeling energized and clear.

  • What's the difference between yoga and hot yoga?

Yoga can be practiced in many styles and temperatures. Hot yoga refers to practicing yoga in a heated environment, usually between 90–105°F. The heat intensifies the experience, but the postures and sequencing are still grounded in traditional yoga.

  • Who should not do hot yoga?

Most people can safely practice hot yoga, but it may not be suitable for everyone. Those with certain heart conditions, uncontrolled high blood pressure or other medical concerns should check with their doctor first. Pregnant students should only join with medical clearance and in appropriate classes. If you’re unsure, we encourage you to talk with your healthcare provider and share your needs with our teachers so we can support you.

  • How much does hot yoga cost?

At Lila Within, a single drop-in class is $28. We also offer class packs and monthly unlimited memberships, which reduce the per-class cost and provide more value.

Hot yoga is often a little more expensive than non-heated classes because of the specialized heating and ventilation systems required, the higher energy use, and overall maintenance needed to create a safe, comfortable environment. You’re not just paying for heat-you’re paying for a premium experience designed to help you feel stronger, clearer and more connected.

  • What should I bring to my first hot yoga class?

We recommend bring water, a yoga mat, and a towel for your mat or sweat. Wear light, breathable clothing that you feel comfortable moving in. If you don’t have a mat or towels, no worries! We offer equipment at the studio you can use before you decide to purchase your own! Most importantly, bring an open mind and we will guide you through the rest.

  • Where can I take hot yoga near Cortlandt Manor, Yorktown, or Peekskill

Right here at Lila Within! We are proud to be the Hudson Valley’s dedicated hot yoga studio, offering powerful vinyasa, warm slow flows, restorative classes and kids programs. Our studio was created for athletes, busy professionals, and families looking for strength, balance and community all under one warm and welcoming roof. See you on the mat!
